Hooke’s law states that the velocity of a body or object is directly proportional to the product of its mass and the distance between the two. In other words, the more massive the object, the faster it will travel. It is an important law in physics.

I’ve always thought there was a bit of a mystery about this law. Was it discovered by Isaac Newton or simply discovered by the genius of Hooke? Was it the result of the work of a French scholar who was studying the law? The French scholar that Newton was working with was likely Louis Agassiz, who was studying the laws of physics at the time, and the fact that he discovered the law is actually quite interesting.

It seems that many people find it hard to believe that Hooke made the law himself without any help from Newton, but it’s true. It’s true that Hooke was working on a project to measure the speed of light and had made a prototype of his own.
