Ohm’s law states that the ideal gas law is the same for all substances. In other words, if you put gas into a container, it will expand to fill the container. If you put a metal box in the gas, it will expand until it is the exact same size as the metal. The metal will then not expand as much.
A good example of the use of metal in a gas law is this image from the book, which shows the gas in a metal box as it is expanded. If you were to use metal, you would change the gas to a metal box. If you put gas into a box, you would change the metal to the metal itself.
I guess that gives you a little bit of a hint about why the use of metal in a gas law is important. Because metal has a different density than gas, it behaves differently when you put it into a container. It will expand to fill the container, as opposed to gas, which will expand much more slowly.
What happens when you add metal to a gas law container is that the metal will fill all the space, with the gas. You’ll notice that there are three types of metal including metal that can actually expand to fill space, and metal that’s not able to fill space.
Ohm’s law is a way to verify that something is a gas. So, if someone is holding a gas container and it looks like it’s filling up, they’re actually inside a gas law.
