For all the hype surrounding the new movie The Hobbit, I honestly can’t remember a time when I was looking forward to a movie with such heavy-handed symbolism. The Hobbit is a fantasy adventure set in Middle-earth and it’s all about the power of good and evil and the way those things play out in each character’s story. It’s about a young hobbit and his adventures. It’s about a young hobbit and his adventures.
That said, I do like the way that the movie is taking place in Middle-earth. Its being filmed in real locations at locations where real hobbits would have grown up. This is where it gets a bit more complicated because the book that inspired the movie is set on a different world where the idea of evil hobbits didn’t really exist. So the movie will be using the idea of evil hobbits to tell its story.
Its been a while since I’ve watched the movie, but I remember reading about it in Tolkien’s book when I was younger. I’m not sure I can remember what I remember, so I’m going to guess that the movie will be the same as the book.
